Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam
Day 1-4: Luang Prabang (Laos). Stunning UNESCO world heritage town. Rise at dawn to see saffron-robed monks meander along the small streets past buildings dating back to the French Colonial era, collecting alms from their neighbours in the gentle morning light.
Day 4-6: Siem Reap (Cambodia). Sunset excursion to the world’s largest religious monument Angkor Wat, then dawn at the jungle covered ruins of Ta Prohm temple.
Day 6-7: Phnom Penh (Cambodia). A heart rending reminder of Khmer Rouge and Pol Pot atrocities at the museum of genocide and the Killing Fields.
Day 7-10: Mekong Delta (Vietnam). Say ‘Good Morning, Vietnam’ as you cross the border on board a 3-night riverboat. Visit floating markets and vibrant villages en route to Saigon.
Day 10-12: Saigon (Vietnam). Popping with zest – but also the site of War Remnants Museum.
Day 12-15: Hoi An (Vietnam). Picturesque town with cobbles, art stalls, great food and sandy beach.
Day 15-17: Hanoi (Vietnam). Fashionable restaurants in the French Quarter vye for your attention with colourful street food stalls.
Missing the beach? Add a stay at your choice of Six Senses resort including Krabey Bay (Cambodia), Con Dao (Vietnam) or Ninh Van Bay (Vietnam). Barefoot luxury at its best.
